Our surfing academy is located in Seignosse, France which is just north of Biarritz. The waves are fantastic and the area as a whole is known as the surf capital of Europe.
At the Academy we welcome beginners and intermediate/ advanced surfers. We aim to create a fun and safe environment to enjoy learning or progressing your skills in the sport.
Our instructors are experienced and have surf instructor qualifications and Beach Lifeguard certificates. They are talented surfers who have gained experience from all over the world, even at the World Championships. The team always aims to be attentive, enthusiastic and patient.
Camp members will receive two hours of instruction per lesson, provided conditions permit. We go on our day trips when conditions are not conducive to safe surfing. When conditions are perfect we make the most of it.
All equipment will be provided by us, although participants may bring their own wet suits and boards if they so wish.
At the Academy we are proud to go the extra mile in terms of safety. We believe that safety is paramount. The surf team is comprised of fully qualified and experienced surf instructors. We ensure that a ratio of one instructor to eight pupils is strictly observed. The team is familiar with local conditions and observes the safety guidelines prescribed by the International Surf Association.
“The International Surf Association (ISA) is pleased to see that The Language and Surf Academy has joined us in acknowledging the importance of risk management and staff professionalism in the sport of surfing and surfschools. Respect for the moods and the ways of the ocean are an integral part of the life of a surfer. Safely and efficiently managing the process of teaching surfing skills is an important issue for both the ISA and the Language and Surf Academy. Their attention to staff instructor accreditation and individual instructor’s skills as surfers and educators, are key ingredients for students to successfully experience what the surfing lifestyle is about and begin their own journey.”
